“The sea is part of the DNA of Bootle. This is a maritime community.”
The Port Academy Liverpool Library runs various events aimed at primary schools.
All the library team have enhanced DBS accreditation and our activities are fully risk assessed. We also provide transport for schools to and from our events. Our Teddy Bear Sleepovers are hugely successful and we can organise other trips such as visits to our College airplane cabin.
Just some of the other topics we deliver to schools are Romans and Space in line with the national curriculum. We can produce resources to support learning and will work alongside pupils to help with their research. Our new Port Academy Liverpool library delivers a wide range of maritime themed topics for children of all ages and we very much welcome older visitors interested in learning more about Bootle’s magnificent maritime history.
Why not drop anchor at Port Academy Liverpool and join our expert team for a fun and enriching voyage of discovery themed aroundall things maritime.
We can deliver sessions that compliment your own classroom activities covering topics such as shipping to transatlantic trade and slavery. Each session is led by our team of qualified staff who all possess enhanced DBA accreditation. Our activities are fully risk assessed and we can even provide transport to and from school to our centre.
We can also supply resources around a number of maritime topics as well as support pupils in their own research. Mini Mariners and their teachers are also able to access our handling collections to support the learning experience.
